The visuals presented here represent the product of many collaborations, some of which have occurred over the course of a few days—and some the result of commitments that lasted months or years.
More importantly, this work isn’t just our livelihood, it is our lives. We have a combined 15 years of experience in the field but are continuously exploring better ways to tell stories and capture images for businesses and brands through the voices and faces of the people who believe in them most.
Jason is a two-time North Carolina Photographer of the Year who began his career in newspapers but soon went on to direct the feature length film “Without a Fight” which premiered at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in 2012. Jason’s love for the process of creating images—both moving and still—is only superceded by his love for coffee, bourbon and open ocean sailing.
Andrew P. Johnson
Andrew’s work has been widely recognized by organizations like the National Press Photographers’ Association and SXSW Film Festival. He's the in-house motion designer, quadcopter pilot, camera operator, lighting tech, web designer, video editor and carpenter. In 2009, Andrew and Jason met in the Galapagos Islands and after almost being attacked by a sea lion decided to start a photography business there called Yacht Shots. That didn’t work out. Yet.
Elmo the Gaffer Puppy
Named after the diner where Andrew and his wife went on their first date, Elmo joined the team a mere 3 months after being born. She greets guests at the studio, but mostly spends her days napping and eating leaves or anything else she can find on the studio floor.
